🇬🇷 Olympic Games first began in Ancient Greece around 3,000 years ago. During the Olympic Games, all conflict was stopped for a period of time. This is known as the “Olympic Truce” or “Ekecheiria” in Greek.
💡In the 1800’s, a Frenchman named Pierre de Coubertin decided to revive the Olympic Games to unite the world through the power of sports, which he envisioned would lead us to world peace.
🌎 To this day, Coubertin’s vision is passed on, as every four years, athletes from all around the globe come together as one, striving to be the best versions of themselves as athletes and as humans.
